I’m an artist and graphic designer. But most important, I’m a human being. I go through ups and downs and what I love the most is to learn from it all and share this with others. I do that by drawing and writing, or who knows, I might write a song, dance like crazy, or one day knit a piece of wool so big that it would keep the whole world together, nice and cosy.
Art has created a little Yoda in my head.
(-to insert or draw Yoda meme like ‘Patience you must have my young Padawan’ ).
I learned that when creating something, it will never turn out exactly the way you think it will, and that’s the magic of it all. I learned that sometimes leaving everything to chance without any intention can be disastrous. I learned that it’s not about enjoying it when all goes well, but about finding ways to go on when it doesn’t. And if it doesn’t go well the first, second or tenth time it doesn’t mean it won’t work out in the end. All the steps give the work its depth and meaning, without them the final would never look the same. Art had made me a fearless ninja. When you create something new, you smash yourself on the ground, then you pick yourself up. All the time. It’s tuff, but in the end, you learn to enjoy the ruff bits as part of the process.
Creating is my way of coping with the world around me. It’s the way in which I learn and test my limits. It’s like a diary where I can look back and see how much I’ve grown. It’s my way to always remember the things that are important, the meaning of it all. And in the end…I do it because it’s fun. It helps me grow and stay sane. And I want to share this with others so that they do too.
